Safe and Sane fireworks bear the State Fire Marshal seal and are sold by licensed nonprofits. Fireworks legally bought in Oroville cannot leave the city limits. Unincorporated Butte County and most other cities ban all fireworks due to extreme wildfire risk (Camp Fire region).
Illegal fireworks: up to $1,000 fine and up to 6 months in county jail. Safe and Sane limited to within city limits during the permitted window.
