Title 5, Chapter 6 of the Official Code covers pawnbrokers, junk dealers, secondhand dealers and yard sales together. Section 5-601(4) defines a yard sale as a sale of household articles, utensils, jewelry, clothing or furniture, expressly notes it may also be known as a garage sale, and covers sales held on owned property, rental property, or a rented space. Section 5-606 then requires the holder to be residing in Clarksville at the time of the sale and to register a name, phone number, location and date with the building official.
