Municipal Code § 10-308(6) lists power lawn mowers, leaf blowers, trimmers, snowblowers, tillers, saws, chainsaws, power washers, edgers and generators as exempt when used between 6:00 a.m. and 9:00 p.m. Run one at 5:00 a.m. and § 10-303(a)(1) applies: sound from a residential use may not exceed 70 dB(A) between 6:00 a.m. and midnight, or 65 dB(A) between midnight and 6:00 a.m., measured at the complainant's property boundary about five feet above grade on a slow meter response. Section 10-304 separately bans unreasonably loud or unnecessary noise.
