Fayetteville limits yard sales to the daylight hours of the permitted days. Advertising signs go up no more than two days before the sale and come down at closing or by the end of daylight.
Section 15-34 restricts each sale to the daylight hours of the days named on the permit, and the permit itself sets and restricts the time and location. On advertising, the ordinance allows three signs of up to four square feet on the residence where the sale runs, plus five directional signs of up to two square feet each with written permission from the owners of the properties where they stand. No sign or other advertisement goes up more than two days before the sale starts. Signs come down at the close of activities or by the end of daylight, whichever happens first.
Sign violations draw a $50.00 penalty per violation with no prior notice. Other breaches of Section 15-34 are a misdemeanor, with each day of sale a separate offense.
