Residential home occupations are limited to one non-illuminated wall sign of two square feet or less; agricultural home occupations may have one sign up to six square feet and four feet high. No off-site advertising signs are allowed.
Under LDC Sec. 4.3.1.B(1)(h), a residential home occupation sign is limited to a non-illuminated wall sign having no moving parts or flashing lights, not exceeding two square feet, and compatible with the neighborhood's architectural character; off-site advertising signs are prohibited. Under Sec. 4.3.1.C(1)(g), an agricultural home occupation may have one single- or double-faced non-illuminated sign not exceeding six square feet and not higher than four feet, located no closer than five feet to the front tract line. Florida Statute 559.955 also requires that a home-based business's signage comply with relevant local and state regulations.
Non-conforming or illuminated/off-site signage is a code enforcement violation and grounds for permit revocation.
