Pearland's Code of Ordinances Section 13-17 makes it a violation to let grass or weeds grow higher than nine inches on any premises (reduced from twelve inches), including portions of the right-of-way and drainage ditches up to the pavement.
Pearland can cite the owner, mow the lot and bill the cost, and place a lien for unpaid abatement. County nuisance abatement under H&S Code Ch. 343 also allows cost recovery.
