Water restrictions in Washoe County, NV — also called the watering schedule, outdoor irrigation rules, or drought ordinance — set which days and hours you can run sprinklers or irrigation.
There is no county watering schedule. In the Truckee Meadows, Truckee Meadows Water Authority (TMWA) assigns sprinkler days by address: odd addresses water Wed/Fri/Sun, even addresses Tue/Thu/Sat, never Mondays, and not during midday heat in summer.
Washoe County itself imposes no landscape-watering schedule; the water utility does. TMWA's assigned-day watering is the community standard: if your address ends in an odd number (1,3,5,7,9) you water Wednesdays, Fridays and Sundays; even numbers (0,2,4,6,8) water Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays. Monday is a system rest day with no sprinkler watering. Because of evaporation, sprinkler watering is discouraged from noon to 6 p.m. during the summer season (Memorial Day through Labor Day). Drip irrigation and hand watering are always permitted, any day. Best watering is late night or early morning when it is cool.
TMWA enforces assigned-day watering through its water rules; repeated violations can draw notices and escalating penalties from the utility, not a county fine.
