Temporary signs like garage-sale and yard-sale signs may not stay on a site more than 10 consecutive days, and at least 90 days must pass between displays. They cannot be illuminated and must avoid prohibited sign areas.
Garage-sale and other temporary signs are governed by WCC 110.505.10(b). Temporary signs need not be affixed to the ground or a building, must not be illuminated or electronic, and cannot be placed in a prohibited sign area (Sec. 110.505.35). No temporary sign may remain on a site for more than 10 consecutive days, and at least 90 days must elapse between displays. Real-estate signs get a longer window: a for-sale/lease sign is allowed until 5 days after the sale records or lease is signed, with freestanding signs set back 5 feet from property lines. Temporary signs don't count against a site's sign allotment but must meet the size/height limits in Table 110.505.15.2. These rules apply in unincorporated county areas.
Enforced under Article 910; over-duration, illuminated, or prohibited-area signs may be removed and cited.
