Section 11-117 of Largo's Chapter 11 (Environment) applies a property-line standard rather than zone-specific industrial caps: noise measured at the nearest adjacent residential property line cannot exceed 72 dBA from 7 a.m. to 6 p.m. or 55 dBA from 6 p.m. to 7 a.m. Industrial and commercial neighbors of residential zones must therefore engineer fans, compressors, loading docks, exhaust systems, and rooftop HVAC to meet those limits. Standalone HVAC units are also capped at 60 dBA at the property line at any time. Persistent industrial noise across a residential boundary is enforced by Community Standards and can be referred to the special magistrate.
Civil citations and escalating per-day fines apply, with abatement orders possible for chronic offenders. Equipment changes may be required to bring readings into compliance.
