Mariposa County, CA Parking Rules: Commercial Vehicle Restrictions (2026)

In unincorporated Mariposa County, commercial vehicle parking is not singled out by a dedicated residential-area ban. Instead, the County of Mariposa applies the general parking provisions of Mariposa County Code Chapter 10.08 ('Stopping, Standing and Parking'), including posted no-parking zones under MCC 10.08.020. The county does enforce maximum legal vehicle dimensions and weights, consistent with state law: no vehicle or load may exceed 14 feet in height or 102 inches (8 feet 6 inches) in width, single units are limited to 40 feet in length and combinations to 65 feet, and the gross weight on any one axle may not exceed 20,000 pounds. The county may also reduce the permissible weight of vehicles and loads on unimproved county roads or county bridges (citing California Vehicle Code 35706), and oversize/overweight loads require a permit (County Resolution No. 71-59). Solid-waste collection vehicles have their own parking rule: under MCC 8.36.040(D), uncleaned refuse collection vehicles may not be stored on public streets or roads except in emergencies.
