Texas counties can't zone driveways, so residential driveway rules come from your city. Corpus Christi bars parking in an alley in a way that blocks the driveway entrance to abutting property and defines a driveway for its parking code; unincorporated county lots have no county driveway rule.
Nueces County has no zoning authority over private driveways in unincorporated areas — that is a city matter. Corpus Christi Code § 53-146 prohibits stopping, standing or parking in an alley in a position that blocks the driveway entrance to any abutting property. Section 53-180 defines a 'driveway' as an area adjacent to a curb cut providing vehicular access between a street and an off-street parking area. Blocking a driveway or a curb cut on a public street is enforceable citywide even without posted signs.
Blocking a driveway or alley entrance draws a Corpus Christi parking citation and possible tow, plus the $5 court cost under § 53-153.
