Siskiyou County, CA Parking Rules: Loading Zones (2026)

Siskiyou County's rural, unincorporated road network does not include a published county-wide system of designated commercial loading zones like a city downtown. Loading and unloading on County roads is governed by the California Vehicle Code. CVC Section 22500 lists where stopping, standing, and parking are prohibited, and recognizes limited exceptions allowing a bus, schoolbus, or taxicab to stop in certain locations to load or unload passengers when authorized by local ordinance. Outside those prohibitions, a driver may stop briefly to load or unload as long as the vehicle is not left in front of a driveway, in a crosswalk or intersection, within 15 feet of a fire hydrant, on a sidewalk, or in a posted no-parking area. Any formally signed or curb-marked loading restriction would appear on the specific roadway. During winter snow operations the overriding rule is County Ordinance No. 770: a vehicle, including one stopped to load, may not obstruct snow removal in the roadway and may be removed and stored at the owner's expense under Code Section 3-4.606.
