There is no blanket overnight ban on passenger cars on County streets. Overnight limits mainly hit commercial vehicles in residence districts and recreational vehicles in designated restricted zones, where a hitched trailer may stay only up to 72 hours.
Prince William County does not impose a general overnight street-parking prohibition on ordinary vehicles. Instead, overnight parking is governed indirectly: commercial vehicles cannot be left in residence districts (13-327), and in a designated restricted-parking zone recreational vehicles cannot remain on the street, with a limited 72-hour allowance for a trailer connected to its tow vehicle for loading, unloading, or maintenance (per the Restricted Parking Areas program under 13-320.1). Inoperable vehicles also cannot be stored outdoors overnight. Many HOAs impose their own overnight rules the County does not enforce.
Vehicles left overnight in violation of commercial, recreational-zone, or inoperable-vehicle rules are subject to ticketing and towing at the owner's expense.
