Tuolumne County's parking code does not set a dedicated oversized-vehicle ban; oversized vehicles are covered by the obstruction rule (Section 10.24.010) and the 72-hour limit (Section 10.24.030). The county may restrict oversized or heavy vehicles on specific roads by Board resolution with posted signs, and California Vehicle Code 22507.5 governs weight-based residential limits.
Unincorporated Tuolumne County has no separate oversized-vehicle parking chapter. Large vehicles - motorhomes, trailers, 'house trailers and movable living quarters of any nature or description' - are explicitly within the definition of 'vehicle' in Section 10.24.010, which prohibits parking them on county roads or rights-of-way in a way that obstructs vehicular traffic. The 72-hour limit of Section 10.24.030 applies to oversized vehicles just as to cars: a vehicle left more than 72 consecutive hours after a posted notice may be removed at the owner's expense. To impose tighter limits on a particular road, the Board of Supervisors may adopt a resolution under Section 10.24.020 restricting stopping, parking, or standing, effective only after signs or markings are conspicuously posted. For weight-based residential restrictions, California Vehicle Code Section 22507.5 allows local authorities to restrict commercial vehicles rated 10,000 pounds GVWR or more in residential districts by ordinance, again only where posted. Narrow mountain roads in the high country can make obstruction the practical constraint on oversized vehicles. General Chapter 10.24 violations are penalized at $35 under Section 10.24.080.
An oversized vehicle (motorhome, large trailer, house trailer) that obstructs a county road or right-of-way violates Section 10.24.010. Leaving it more than 72 hours after notice violates Section 10.24.030, allowing removal at the owner's expense. Posted Board resolutions (Section 10.24.020) and weight-based residential limits under California Vehicle Code 22507.5 are enforceable where signed. General violations carry a $35 penalty.
