Arapahoe County adopted Ordinance No. 2024-02 effective January 1, 2025, regulating parking on unincorporated county roads, highways, and county-owned property. Deputies can issue $150 citations and tow vehicles that obstruct roads or violate posted signage.
Ordinance No. 2024-02 allows Arapahoe County Sheriff deputies and designated county staff to issue $150 parking citations for violations on unincorporated county roads, highways, and county-owned property. The ordinance provides for towing and removal of abandoned vehicles and vehicles that obstruct roads, interfere with road maintenance, or are parked in No Parking zones marked by signage. The ordinance supplements the County's Model Traffic Code (Ordinance 2021-03) and Colorado traffic statutes CRS 42-4-1204 through 42-4-1211. Vehicles lacking current valid registration displayed on the vehicle are subject to additional restrictions.
