Aurora limits street parking to 72 consecutive hours in the same location. Vehicles must be moved at least one block after 72 hours. Street sweeping, snow routes, and posted time limits also apply.
Aurora City Code Section 134-321 prohibits leaving a vehicle parked on any public street for more than 72 consecutive hours without moving. After 72 hours a vehicle may be cited or towed as abandoned. Aurora also designates emergency snow routes where parking is banned during declared snow emergencies (generally when 4+ inches accumulate). Vehicles blocking snow plows may be ticketed and towed. Street sweeping schedules require temporary relocation on designated days in some neighborhoods. Parking within 5 feet of a driveway, 15 feet of a fire hydrant, 20 feet of a crosswalk, or 30 feet of a stop sign is prohibited statewide under CRS 42-4-1204.
72-hour violations begin with a warning or citation and can result in towing at owner expense. Snow route violations carry fines plus tow and storage fees.
