Garage sales in Delano require a permit issued by the Finance Director. Delano Municipal Code §6.22.030 sets the fee at $5 for the first and second permit and $10 for the third and fourth during any 12-month period.
No more than four permits per calendar year may be issued to the same person or for the same premises (DMC §6.22.040). Permits are non-transferable, though new owners or tenants receive their own four-permit allowance. Sales must be Saturdays and Sundays only, between 6 a.m. and 5 p.m., and may not exceed two consecutive days (§6.22.050). Food and beverage sales are prohibited. Property may not be displayed in the public right-of-way.
