Delano Development Code §20.10.350.2 prohibits use of any vacant or undeveloped residential parcel — or any residential parcel where no main building exists — for storage of motor vehicles, trailers, boats, junk, garbage, building materials, or similar items.
Building materials may be stored only while a valid building permit is in effect for the same parcel (§20.10.350.3). This is one of the most-cited residential code-enforcement provisions for vacant lots in established neighborhoods. The owner is responsible regardless of whether they authorized the storage.
Administrative citations and abatement; abatement costs are recovered as a property lien.
