Delano has not adopted a specific leaf-blower ordinance. Use of gas-powered leaf blowers is regulated through the 65 dB(A) CNEL noise standard (DC §20.10.180) and CARB's small off-road engine (SORE) rule, which prohibited sales of new gas leaf blowers statewide in 2024.
Existing gas leaf blowers may continue to be used but cannot be sold new in California after January 1, 2024. Operators must still comply with the CNEL standard at the receiving property line. Electric leaf blowers are unrestricted by the SORE rule.
Noise complaints handled via city code enforcement under the CNEL standard.
