Largo allows residential garage and yard sales as an accessory use to a home, but limits how often they can be held, restricts signage in the public right-of-way, and treats commercial-scale operations as illegal home businesses.
Under the Largo Comprehensive Development Code, garage sales are an accessory residential use permitted only at a dwelling unit, not on vacant lots. Sales are limited in frequency and duration so they do not become a continuous retail operation, typically a few sales per year of two to three days each. Signs may be posted on the host property but not stapled to utility poles, attached to street signs, or placed in the public right-of-way. Sales may not block sidewalks, driveways, or street parking. Recurring sales or sales on a non-residential parcel are treated as unpermitted commercial activity.
Posting signs in the right-of-way, holding sales too frequently, or running a year-round sale draws Community Standards notices, sign removal, and per-violation fines.
