Anne Arundel County Department of Public Works Bureau of Waste Management collects trash, recycling, and yard waste at the curb for single-family homes in the sanitary district. Carts (one 65- or 95-gallon trash cart and one recycling cart per home) are county-issued and must be used; extra bags next to the cart are accepted only during approved special collections. Carts must be stored on the property — not in the street, on the sidewalk, or on the adjacent public right-of-way — between pickup days. Carts may be set out no earlier than 5 PM the day before collection and must be retrieved by 10 PM on collection day (Article 12 / Bureau regulations). Lids must be closed and bags must be tied.
