In the collected service area, residents place carts curbside by 4:00 AM on the scheduled day. Under City-Parish Code Sec. 6:238, carts may not be placed out earlier than 4:00 PM the evening before collection and must be retrieved by 6:00 AM the day after collection so they are not left at the roadway. Each cart must be at least 3 feet from other objects (including other carts), oriented with the metal bar toward the street and wheels toward the house, and lids must be fully closed — carts with open lids are not collected.
