Southern Nevada Health District inspects all Las Vegas food establishments and posts results online. Nevada uses a demerit system, not letter grades; closures occur when imminent health hazards are found during routine inspections.
SNHD covers the City of Las Vegas plus all Clark County and grades restaurants under the Southern Nevada Health District Regulations Governing Food Establishments. Inspections score demerits for violations: A grade requires zero imminent-health-hazard violations and limited demerits, B and C grades indicate progressively more issues. Imminent health hazards (no hot water, sewage backup, vermin, employee illness) trigger immediate closure until corrected. Inspection reports and grade cards are posted publicly at snhd.info, and operators must display the most recent grade card visibly near the entrance.
Failure to display the current grade card, operating without a permit, or refusing entry to inspectors triggers fines, suspension, or closure by SNHD environmental health.
