Arvada requires both an STR permit and a city business license under Land Development Code 3-1-5-3 (Ord. 4917, eff. May 1, 2026). Permits issue only to a natural person 18+ with 20% or more ownership interest, one permit per lot, with detailed application and renewal requirements.
Arvada's STR program (LDC 3-1-5; Ord. 4917 effective May 1, 2026) requires every host to hold an active STR permit AND a city business license. Applications must include parcel data, floor plans showing egress windows and detector and fire-extinguisher locations, a maintenance plan, signed Emergency Contact form, proof of ownership, deed-restriction certification, prior summons history, ID, and insurance proof per LDC 3-1-5-3. Only one permit issues per lot (primary OR ADU, not both). Renewals are due 45 days before expiration and require occupancy data and tax-payment verification. Confirm current fees on the Arvada Land Use Fee Schedule.
Operating without a current STR permit and business license, or holding more than one permit per lot, can trigger denial, suspension, or revocation under LDC 3-1-5-3, plus code-enforcement summonses and city-business-license penalties.
