Oklahoma City requires bins placed curbside 3 feet apart by 7 AM pickup day and retrieved by 7 AM next day under Β§40-21. Stored out of public view between collections.
Oklahoma City Municipal Code Β§40-21 requires residents to place trash and recycling carts curbside no earlier than 6 PM the day before collection and remove them from the curb by 7 AM the day after collection. Carts must be spaced at least 3 feet apart, 3 feet from parked vehicles and mailboxes, and 5 feet from fire hydrants to allow automated truck arms to grab without obstruction. Lids must fully close. Between collections, carts must be stored out of view from public streets β behind the house, in the garage, or behind a side-yard fence. Edmond Code Β§15-8 requires retrieval within 12 hours of pickup. Midwest City Β§30-52 follows similar rules. HOAs frequently impose stricter storage rules. Unincorporated Oklahoma County has no cart placement ordinance but private haulers set their own rules.
Bins left out past deadline: warning first, then $25 to $100 per occurrence (OKC Β§40-22). Blocking hydrants or drives: immediate removal and $100+ fine.
