Ann Arbor carts must be at the curb before 7 a.m. on collection day (no more than 24 hours early), with the lid opening facing the street, at least 3 feet from any obstacle, and clear of branches or wires under 15 feet.
Per Solid Waste Regs R2:3, place refuse, recycling and seasonal compost carts at the curb or designated site before 7 a.m. on the weekly collection day, and no more than 24 hours ahead. The front bar and lid opening must face the street, with a minimum of three feet between carts and any pole, tree, mailbox or parked vehicle. Carts can't be set under branches, wires or overhangs lower than 15 feet, or in marked bike lanes.
Improperly placed, blocked, or overweight carts (over 224 lb for a 64-gallon, 336 lb for a 96-gallon) will not be serviced.
