Ann Arbor provides once-a-week curbside trash and recycling collection to single-family and duplex homes, with weekly compost April through November (monthly in winter). Collection slips one day when a major holiday falls that week.
Per the Solid Waste Regulations (Ch. 26), residential curbcart customers get once-a-week trash and recycling collection, with days assigned geographically. Compost runs weekly from roughly the first full week of April through the last full week of November, then once a month (carts only) in January, February and March. For six holidays (New Year's, Memorial, Independence, Labor, Thanksgiving, Christmas) the service center closes and collection on and after the holiday moves one day later that week.
Not applicable to residents (service rules). Improperly prepared, overweight or blocked carts won't be serviced until the next scheduled collection day.
