Biloxi, MS Trash & Recycling: Bulk Item Disposal (2026)

Harrison County cities provide bulk item collection on a scheduled basis (monthly in some cities, by appointment in others) through municipal public works departments. Eligible items include furniture, mattresses, and large appliances (refrigerators, washers, dryers). Appliances containing refrigerant (refrigerators, freezers, AC units) must have the refrigerant professionally removed and tagged by a certified technician per EPA §608 before curbside pickup. Electronics (e-waste), batteries, tires, paint, motor oil, and other household hazardous materials are excluded and must go to designated drop-off facilities. The Harrison County Transfer Station and MDEQ-permitted facilities accept hazardous waste by appointment. Construction debris (drywall, roofing, lumber) is not eligible for standard bulk pickup; homeowners doing demolition must hire a C&D hauler or rent a dumpster. Items must be placed curbside on the scheduled date only, not days in advance. Excessive piles (beyond typical household volume) may require a special hauling fee. Hurricane debris is handled separately under FEMA/MEMA rules; after named storms, specialized debris haulers sort vegetative, C&D, appliances, and hazardous materials into separate curbside piles for weeks or months.
