Sec. 54-30 of the Code (referenced as CD54:7 by Public Works) limits each curbside yard-waste pile to 2 cubic yards. Acceptable materials are limbs, leaves, pine straw, and yard clippings. Tree limbs must be under 4 inches diameter and 4 feet in length. Material must be placed in disposable bags or piles - never in the garbage container. Yard waste cannot be placed near utility boxes, lines, mailboxes, poles, or vehicles. Bulk items (furniture, appliances, mattresses) require a Special Pick Up arranged via 850-265-5989, with the fee billed on the next month's water bill. Lynn Haven does NOT accept land-clearing debris, tree-removal contractor debris, Freon-containing appliances without removal documentation, batteries, paint, tires, or hazardous materials.
Piles exceeding 2 cubic yards or containing prohibited materials are bypassed; sustained violations are Sec. 1-7 citations up to $500.
