LCSWMA does not provide curbside collection. Residents contract with private haulers, arranged through their municipality, who must deliver waste to LCSWMA facilities. Pickup days and rules are set by your hauler and town.
The Lancaster County Solid Waste Management Authority (LCSWMA) operates the disposal system β the Bainbridge Waste-to-Energy facility and the Frey Farm Landfill β but states plainly it βdoes NOT provide curbside collection of trash or recycling.β Curbside service is provided by private haulers; residents either contract directly or their municipality arranges collection. Haulers must bring collected waste to LCSWMA facilities under the county Solid Waste Management Plan. For pickup schedules, containers, and setout times, contact your local municipal office or hauler. Thanks to LCSWMA's integrated system, only about 5% of county waste reaches the landfill.
Missed-payment or setout-violation penalties are set by your private hauler and municipality. Improperly disposing of waste outside the system can trigger state illegal-dumping charges.
