Lewisville, TX Animal Ordinances: Wildlife Feeding (2026)

Lewisville Code of Ordinances addresses wildlife feeding through its nuisance provisions in Chapter 9 and park rules. Feeding waterfowl (ducks, geese) at Lewisville Lake and city park ponds is prohibited by posted signage and park rules because it degrades water quality, spreads avian disease, and creates aggressive bird populations. Feeding deer, coyotes, or feral hogs on residential property can be cited as a nuisance under Chapter 9 when it attracts wildlife that damages neighboring properties or creates safety hazards. Texas Parks and Wildlife Code Chapter 63 governs non-game wildlife management statewide. TPWD discourages feeding urban wildlife as it habituates animals to human contact.
