Kentucky permits limited home delivery of medical cannabis to qualifying cardholders by licensed dispensaries under KRS Chapter 218B and OMC regulations. Louisville dispensaries must follow strict ID, manifest, and vehicle requirements.
Under KRS Chapter 218B and 915 KAR Chapter 1 regulations, Kentucky's Office of Medical Cannabis (OMC) authorizes licensed dispensaries to deliver medical cannabis to registered qualifying patients and caregivers. Deliveries require electronic manifests, GPS tracking, locked storage in delivery vehicles, dispensary employee couriers (not third-party gig drivers), and verification of the cardholder's state-issued medical cannabis card and government ID at delivery. Dispensaries cannot deliver to dorms, federally subsidized housing, or out of state. Louisville Metro does not impose additional delivery restrictions beyond state law and standard traffic and parking rules.
Unauthorized delivery, third-party couriers, or delivery to non-cardholders can trigger OMC license revocation, Class A misdemeanor charges, and forfeiture of product and vehicles under state law.
