Bristol, PA Curfew Laws: Park Curfew (2026)

Section 16-101 sets the rules for the park, recreational, athletic and playground areas and all public open spaces in the Borough of Bristol that are owned by the Borough or the Bristol Borough Recreation Authority. Subsection 1.A opens these areas daily from 7:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m. and names the Jefferson Avenue Recreational Complex specifically. At 10:00 p.m., all activities in the area must cease and all persons must leave immediately. Subsection 1.B closes the areas between 10:00 p.m. and 7:00 a.m. the following morning to everyone except authorized employees of the Borough, the Recreation Director or the Recreation Authority, unless one of those agencies specifically authorizes presence.

Playgrounds run on their own schedule. Under subsections 1.C and 1.D, all playgrounds are open from dawn to dusk and are restricted to use by children 12 years of age or younger.

The riverfront has a separate schedule. Section 16-103 says the access pier is open daily to the public, but the docks open to boaters only between 6:00 a.m. and 11:00 p.m., May through October. At all other times, including November through April, the docks are closed, and no person other than authorized employees of the Borough can be on closed docks. There is no repairs, loitering or fishing on the docks at any time, and no person under 14 can be on the docks unless accompanied by an adult.

Other park rules in § 16-101 apply during open hours: no one can possess or consume alcoholic beverages in the areas (1.I), motor vehicles stay in authorized parking areas unless Borough officials specifically authorize otherwise (1.J), waste goes in designated receptacles (1.G), and benches, seats and tables cannot be removed or relocated without permission from the Borough Manager or the Borough Inspector (1.F). Posted notices and signs cannot be defaced, and no one can post a notice or placard other than by authority of the Borough, the Recreation Director or the Recreation Authority (1.H).
