Bristol Borough Chapter 2, Part 3 (Noisy Animals) specifically addresses excessive animal noise. Adopted as Ordinance 1005 on July 14, 1986, the Borough Council found that excessive levels of sound from animals are detrimental to physical, mental, and social well-being, as well as comfort, living conditions, general welfare, and safety. The ordinance provides for greater control and regulation of excessive animal sound. An Animal Control Officer appointed by Borough Council has enforcement power under this Part and the PA Dog Law of 1982. Under the Bristol Borough 2019 dog protection ordinance, dogs must have adequate shelter and cannot be left unattended outdoors for more than 30 minutes in bad weather.
