Contra Costa County, CA Curfew Laws: Park Curfew (2026)

Unincorporated Contra Costa County parks managed by the Public Works Department and the East Bay Regional Park District (EBRPD) are closed to public entry from sunset (or 10:00 PM, whichever is earlier) until 6:00 AM the following morning, unless a special use permit authorizes later hours. Unlawful entry during closed hours is an infraction under CCC Ordinance Code Chapter 1110-6 and EBRPD Ordinance 38, with fines up to $250 per Cal Public Resources Code Section 5008.3. Overnight camping is prohibited except in designated campgrounds with reservations. The prohibition covers walking, jogging, bicycling, picnicking, and vehicle occupancy. Certain lighted facilities such as tennis courts, ball fields, and trails may have extended hours posted. Sheriff's Office and EBRPD Police enforce the closure. Commercial photography, events, and organized gatherings of 50+ people require a special event permit.
