San Ramon, CA Curfew Laws: Park Curfew (2026)

Section B5-11 of the Municipal Code gives the director of parks and community services authority to set 'reasonable opening and closing hours' for every park facility in San Ramon, and it fixes the default schedule as dawn to dusk, with an exception for lighted facilities such as ball fields or courts, which may operate past dusk when the lighting is used for the activity the field is designed for. Entering, remaining in, or camping on any park facility during closed hours is barred unless the person holds a permit issued by the director under the general park-use permit process in sections B5-4 and B5-5.

The director's closure authority is broader than the daily clock: section B5-3 lets the director close all or part of a facility outright and require everyone to leave whenever conditions there present a hazard to the facility or to public safety. Vehicles left in a park after closing without a permit are also independently barred by section B5-12, which authorizes the director to have them towed. A violation of the hours rule is enforced as an infraction under section B5-32 unless it falls under one of that section's carve-outs for vandalism or firearms offenses, meaning a person cited for being in a closed park after dark faces the city's standard infraction fine track rather than a misdemeanor.
