Redondo Beach requires swimming pools and hot tubs to be enclosed by fences between six and eight feet with self-latching gates, and limits corner-lot vision triangles to obstructions no higher than 36 inches.
Under RBMC Section 10-2.1524, swimming pools and hot tubs must be entirely enclosed by buildings, fences, or walls not less than six feet nor more than eight feet in height, equipped with self-latching gates whose latches are not less than four feet above the ground. On corner lots, a triangular vision-clearance area is formed by the front and side lot lines and a diagonal between points 15 feet from their intersection; within it, no tree, fence, shrub, or obstruction higher than 36 inches above grade is allowed. The same 15-foot triangle and 36-inch limit apply where a lot abuts both a street and an alley.
Missing or non-compliant pool enclosures and obstructions blocking a corner vision triangle are enforced by the city and must be corrected or removed.
