Redondo Beach has no blanket overnight ban for standard cars, but oversized vehicles are barred from streets between 2:00 a.m. and 6:00 a.m. without a permit, and overnight street sweeping (RBMC 3-7.1308) and preferential-parking zones restrict where residents may leave vehicles.
Standard passenger vehicles may generally park on Redondo Beach streets overnight unless a posted sign, preferential-parking zone, or street-sweeping schedule says otherwise. Oversized vehicles (22 feet or larger, or 8x7 feet) are barred from streets and city lots between 2:00 a.m. and 6:00 a.m. under RBMC 3-7.2102 without an overnight permit (3-7.2106). RBMC 3-7.1308 governs street-sweeping no-parking hours; effective September 3, 2024 it was amended to let vehicles re-park once both the sweeper and a parking-enforcement officer have passed. In preferential-parking zones, only permit-holders may park during posted hours. In public lots and structures, no vehicle may remain more than 72 consecutive hours (RBMC 3-10.11). Camping or sleeping overnight in a vehicle in any public place is prohibited.
Overnight citations typically arise from street-sweeping violations (RBMC 3-7.1308), unpermitted oversized-vehicle parking 2:00–6:00 a.m., or parking in a preferential zone without a permit. Standard cars are not cited solely for being parked overnight.
