1708 defines the 'front yard area' as the space from the front property line back to a line parallel with the nearest wall of the main building, running the full width of the lot. Inside that area, parking is prohibited for any automobile or motor vehicle unless it sits on an approved driveway that runs directly to a garage. The single carve-out applies only in the R-1A zone: an existing single-family home may add a parking pad where none exists, provided the pad and its driveway approach are each no wider than 19 feet and the pad runs at least 19 feet deep across its full width; a home with an existing single-car garage may instead build a combination pad-and-driveway under the same 19-by-19 dimensional cap, with the driveway portion still running straight to the garage.

1524(b). Driveways serving two or more dwellings cannot be used for parking at all. The section also caps storage: boats, house trailers, camper-trailer tops, and similar equipment cannot sit in the front yard for more than 72 consecutive hours, construction materials and equipment face the same 72-hour cap absent an active building permit, and any commercial vehicle over 5,600 pounds unladen weight cannot be garaged, parked, or stored on the property at all. Vacant lots are held to the same 72-hour limit. No house trailer, mobile home, camper, or boat may be occupied as a dwelling unit unless it sits in a City-approved trailer or mobile home park.
