Redondo Beach Municipal Code Title 3, Chapter 7, Article 12 prohibits parking on a private driveway or private property without the owner's consent, and bars driving across a sidewalk or parkway except at a permanent or temporary driveway. State law also bars blocking driveways.
Under RBMC Article 12, no person (other than a public officer on duty) may park any vehicle, attended or unattended, on any private driveway or on any public or private property other than a highway without the express or implied consent of the owner or person in lawful possession. The same article provides that the driver shall not drive within any sidewalk or parkway except at a permanent or temporary driveway, protecting curb cuts and landscaped strips. Parking that blocks a public sidewalk is also prohibited. California Vehicle Code section 22500(e) independently prohibits stopping or parking in front of a public or private driveway. Owners who find a vehicle blocking their driveway can request enforcement through Redondo Beach Parking Enforcement.
Parking on a private driveway or private property without consent, blocking a driveway, or driving across a sidewalk except at a driveway are violations enforceable under RBMC Article 12 and California Vehicle Code 22500(e).
