Redondo Beach Municipal Code 3-7.1205 sets curb-color loading rules: white curbs allow passenger loading up to three minutes, yellow curbs allow commercial loading 7:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. (about 20 minutes), and green curbs allow short-term parking up to about 20 minutes.
Under RBMC 3-7.1205 (Title 3, Chapter 7, Article 12), curb colors define loading and short-term zones. In a white passenger loading zone, no vehicle may stop except to load or unload passengers and their baggage, only for the time necessary, in no event more than three minutes. In a yellow commercial loading zone, between 7:00 a.m. and 6:00 p.m. (except Sundays and legal holidays), only commercial vehicles loading goods may stop, for the time necessary, not more than the posted period (about 20 minutes). Green curb zones permit short-term parking, typically up to 20 minutes. Red zones bar all stopping at all times. The City Manager or designee establishes and marks these zones, and posted signage controls where it differs.
Overstaying a white (three-minute), yellow (commercial loading), or green (short-term) zone, or using a yellow zone with a non-commercial vehicle during restricted hours, are citable violations of RBMC 3-7.1205.
