Tennessee's humid subtropical climate (USDA zone 7a) promotes rot and insect damage, making pressure-treated lumber, cedar, or composite materials industry standard. HOAs in Hillwood, Green Hills, and Belle Meade satellite city routinely prohibit chain-link entirely via CC&Rs. Belle Meade and Forest Hills municipal codes are generally stricter than Metro.
