Under P.L. 2017, c.92, New Jersey legalized non-explosive, non-aerial "sparkling devices and novelties" for people 16+. Everything that launches or explodes—skyrockets, Roman candles, firecrackers, bombs—stays illegal for consumers throughout Camden County. Camden County itself sets no separate fireworks ordinance; state law governs. In county parks, any firework display also requires a Camden County Parks permit. Municipalities cannot further regulate legal sparkling devices, but they can—and do—enforce the state ban on illegal aerials. Setting off illegal fireworks can bring criminal charges and fines.
Possession or use of illegal fireworks is a disorderly-persons or fourth-degree offense; fines run into the hundreds to thousands of dollars, plus possible confiscation and jail.
