Under Georgia law (HB 110), consumer fireworks including Roman candles, bottle rockets, and firecrackers are legal for those 18 and older. Macon-Bibb County allows fireworks discharge on New Year's Day, July 3-4, and certain other holidays from 10 AM to midnight, and until 1 AM on January 1 and July 4. Fireworks may not be discharged within 100 yards of hospitals, nursing homes, or gasoline stations. A local excise tax applies to fireworks purchases.
Fireworks outside permitted times or locations result in fines. Reckless use causing injury or property damage carries criminal charges.
