Pennsylvania Act 43 of 2017 (72 P.S. Β§9401) legalized consumer-grade (1.4G) fireworks for residents 18 and older. Legal types include firecrackers, Roman candles, fountains, sparklers, and most consumer items. Fireworks cannot be discharged within 150 feet of an occupied structure without the ownerβs permission. Cannot discharge on anotherβs property without permission. Norristown may adopt additional time and location restrictions. A 12% state fireworks tax applies. Display fireworks (1.3G) require professional permits.
