Food trucks may not vend from public streets in the Central Business District (downtown). Operation on private commercial lots is allowed with property owner permission and proper permits. Special event permits allow temporary vending at festivals.
WP's urban core (Mamaroneck Ave, Main St, Martine Ave) has a dense restaurant inventory and vending from city streets is prohibited to protect brick-and-mortar businesses. Outside the CBD, residential-zone vending is also prohibited except for ice-cream trucks with limited stopping. Event-based vending at city-sanctioned events (farmers market, fairs) requires separate permit from Special Events office. Westchester County Center events have their own vendor procurement.
Vending in prohibited zone: ticket, mandatory relocation, and fine $250-$1,000.
