Yonkers, NY Food Trucks & Mobile Vendors: Vending Zones (2026)

City Code § 20-13 sets operational restrictions for every licensed food vendor beyond just having a license. A vendor may not stand, or let a vehicle stand, in any public place or street within a 1,500-foot radius of the perimeter of any Yonkers park where a newsstand or concession is authorized under the City Code, and may not drive or place a vehicle inside a park at all without a separate park-use permit (§ 20-13A(7)-(8)). Vendors also cannot park in front of a premises if the ground-floor owner or lessee objects, cannot stop or remain in any crosswalk, and cannot set up a booth, stand or place barrels, boxes or crates on a street or public place to sell or display goods (§ 20-13A(4)-(6)).

Noisemaking to attract customers, such as blowing a horn, shouting or ringing a bell, is barred (§ 20-13A(3)). Every vendor must keep vehicles and food receptacles clean and sanitary, with foodstuffs covered and protected from dirt, dust and insects, and may not misrepresent the quality or condition of what is sold (§ 20-13A(1)-(2)). Pushcarts specifically cannot be placed on a sidewalk unless a clear pedestrian pathway remains (§ 20-13B). These siting rules sit apart from the licensing steps in § 20-10 through § 20-12 and govern where and how a food vendor may operate once licensed, not whether a license is required.
