Mount Vernon, NY Food Trucks & Mobile Vendors: Vending Zones (2026)

A(10) of the City of Mount Vernon Code lists the specific public ways where no peddler or food vendor may exhibit, display, offer for sale or sell any goods, wares, food or merchandise: Fourth Avenue between First Street and Third Street; Gramatan Avenue, Broad Street and Grand Street; Fleetwood Avenue, Prospect Avenue and Sanford Boulevard; Fifth Avenue between First Street and Third Street; Third Street; First Street between Second Avenue and Eleventh Avenue; and any area shown as residential on the Mount Vernon Zoning Map.

Subsection J carves out an exception for motorized ice cream trucks, which are not confined to the Subsection A(10) restricted streets, though they cannot park stationary inside City park areas without written authorization from the Mount Vernon Recreation Department.
