Conroe Sec. 26-33 prohibits grass, weeds, or brush exceeding 12 inches in height on property within 100 feet of neighboring residences, public buildings, or commercial establishments.
Under Conroe Code Sec. 26-33, the growth of weeds, brush, grass, or other uncultivated plants to a height greater than 12 inches is declared a public nuisance when the property is within 100 feet of another premises containing a residence, public building, or commercial establishment. Trees are excluded from this provision. Code Enforcement responds to complaints and issues abatement notices. If the property owner fails to mow within the notice period, the city may abate the nuisance and bill the owner for costs including placing a lien on the property. Properties beyond the 100-foot threshold have more flexibility.
Public nuisance citation under Sec. 26-33; fines up to $2,000. City may mow and bill the property owner for abatement costs.
