Rosenberg requires that all property be kept free of weeds, grass, brush, or other vegetation exceeding twelve inches in height, with limited exemptions.
Article II, Section 14-29 of the Rosenberg Code of Ordinances prohibits weeds, grass, brush, or other vegetation greater than twelve inches in height on any property within the city. The provision is enforced by Citizen Relations and is among the most-cited code violations in the city. Heavily wooded acreage and farming or pasture land classified as agricultural exempt on the tax rolls may be excluded, but those parcels must maintain a 100-foot vegetation clearance from any adjacent occupied building, school, athletic field, arena, park, or playground.
Notice of violation, mandatory abatement, mowing by city contractor at owner expense, and municipal court fines.
