The rule covers occupied lots and vacant lots alike and applies to unincorporated areas (Hazel Dell, Salmon Creek, Orchards); incorporated cities like Vancouver and Battle Ground set their own limits. Code Enforcement accepts tall-grass complaints seasonally, May 1 to September 30. Property used for genuine agriculture is not covered.
Code Enforcement issues a notice to abate; unresolved violations can lead to county abatement with costs and civil penalties charged to the owner as a lien.
